The Pacer Cartage family is built by individuals who do the right thing.  Read an excerpt of a letter we recently received from a motorist (a middle-school teacher) commending a Pacer Cartage contractor who came to her rescue, preventing her from being stranded on a North Carolina highway:

               "As I drove down I-85 with a carload of students returning from a field trip, my tire flattened, disabling my vehicle.  One of your truckers motioned for me to pull over.  He then proceeded to take off the flat, inflate the temporary tire and place it back on.  His generosity did not end there.  He then proceeded to follow us until our turn-off point, to prevent any cars from running-up behind us due to our slow speed with the temporary tire.  He was our 'angel' that day and we greatly appreciated his efforts.  His selfless act of solving a problem by giving of his time, energy and talents to help total strangers was an eye-opening experience for these young adults.  He placed our needs in front of his own which was huge with these students.  They all said they felt that hardly ever happens in today's world".

In concluding the story, she wrote that her school's curriculum emphasizes global citizenship, stressing "that our world needs the participation of everyone doing their own part, no matter how big or small, to create a better world.  Your driver's selfless act of solving a problem by giving of his time, energy and talents to help total strangers is what we teach every day".
